Come enjoy the experiences and expertise of long-time Master falconer, Steve Heying, as he gives a presentation on “Falconry” Wednesday, Feb 15th, at 7pm at the Unitarian-Universalist Church, 2615 Shepard Blvd. Steve’s history in falconry began in 1964 with a Passage Goshawk. Steve has had a hawk in his care everyday since 1968. Steve is currently flying an eyes (taken as young) tiercel (male) Peregrine Falcon. He has practiced falconry all over the lower 48 states and within Ireland, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and Poland. Steve was witness to the recovery of the Peregrine Falcon and captive bred Harris’ Hawks between 1977-1993.  If all goes as according to plan, he will present a powerpoint and an assembly of live hawks, some of which may be a challenge to identify by attendees!
