Hi all,
I hope this finds you well and enjoying this lovely reprieve in the formidable winter ice and temperatures. I hope you’re able to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather. As always, Columbia Audubon has lots of ways for you to fill your time starting with a hike this weekend with Eric and Joanna Reuter at Rocky Forks. We’ve got to take advantage of this fabulous weather and get out while we can.
Later this month, we’ll get to hear all about the development of the Alspaugh property north of town. Roger Still is working with Missouri Department of Conservation to create a plan for the property that is a bit different than MDC’s traditional projects. Join us as Roger sets the plan in place for how to help folks heal by spending more time in nature. It’s sure to be an informative night.
I hope you’ll enjoy reading about Greg Renner’s duck decoys and consider attending the annual meeting in Jefferson City at the Runge Center in early March. We’re hoping to have Greg speak to us next fall and share some of his collection with us.
If you haven’t already heard about it, be sure to check out the information on Missouri Birding Challenge, slated to take place the first two weeks of May. Check out their website for more details on how to join in on the fun. It’ll be a 2-week event, encouraging folks to get outdoors and bird, and while you’re out there, take a moment to remember Brad Jacobs and what a wonderful legacy he left our state.
Hope to see you at Boone Electric on Wed. evening, Feb. 19 at 7 pm!
