CAS has been a member of the Conservation Federation of Missouri for several years now. This membership allows individuals and other organizations to recognize that CAS is committed to conservation issues in Missouri. Last week, we learned that CAS won Conservation Organization of the Year from CFM, an award we will accept at the CFM Conference March 7-8 at Lodge of the Four Seasons. We are a deserving organization, and Bill Mees of the Nature Areas Committee wrote a glowing nomination that simply outlined what we do not just in one year, but regularly. It needed no embellishment. You’ll see the official notice from CFM here: CFM Award letter. Here’s Lottie’s note to everyone:

I wanted to let you know that we were selected as the conservation organization of the year by CFM (Conservation Federation of Missouri). As Allison Vaughn told me… this is a big deal!! Bill Mees wrote the nomination letter.

We will accept the honor at the conference on March 7th at Lake of the Ozarks at Lodge of the Four Seasons. You are all invited to attend the event on Friday evening. It is a social hour from 5:30–6:30pm followed by an awards ceremony from 6:30–9:00pm. It is $20/person. At this point Lori Turner and I are driving down, Allison will be attending as well as Jan and Bill Mees. If you’d like to go, let me know. They will seat us together.

The conference looks amazing. I can forward the conference information to anyone who would like to attend that on Saturday. There are also on-line sessions earlier that week.

Feeling pretty proud of us and all we do.
