Wow, September flew by!! I hope everyone is getting out and enjoying those fall migrants. I wasn’t able to attend the MBS Fall Meeting that was in Columbia this past weekend but saw reports from fellow birders enjoying the field trips. My fondest birding memories have been made on field trips. There’s something special about watching birds with other people that are as enthralled as I am!
The field trips that CAS host are coordinated by the Field Trip Chair. This is a position that is very important on the CAS board – we wouldn’t have field trips without their planning efforts. I bring this up because this position is sitting empty. We are asking anyone to step forward and be the newest FTC. You just need to coordinate at least 2 field trips from September to December – we only do one field trip in December because of Christmas Bird Count – and January through May. We have a list of previous field trips to help with ideas and who to contact to lead them. Please consider being the next Field Trip Chair and contact me with any questions or if you want to volunteer. Happy birding!!
