March 15th 7:00 pm Membership Meeting: Birds of Australia

Birds in Australia:

Australia and the continental USA have about the same land area and number of bird species – 900 more or less – even though most of Australia consists of deserts and other arid landscapes. I will show a video that consists of photographs and video collected over about three years of periodic research leaves and other extended visits to this wonderful country. You will see a large representative sample of species that highlight bird diversity, taxonomic relationships, beauty, and the extraordinary behavior of several iconic species.
