Columbia Audubon Society Open House Picnic

3–6:30 p.m.

Columbia Audubon members, friends and neighbors are invited to stop by, starting at 3 p.m., to learn about chimney Swift roosting improvements recently completed at Wild Haven Nature Area as well as future plans. We’ll have light refreshments

At 4 p.m., CAS members will lead short nature walks to explore the birds and habitats of the Wild Haven Area.

At 5 p.m., there will be a brief Columbia Audubon membership meeting introducing officers and venue change, and Refreshment sign-up. During the meeting, members will be asked to contribute if possible to a group discussion of what membership wants from field trips and their leaders.

Followed by the CAS annual picnic at 5:30 p.m.

The picnic will be “bring your own” (food, plates and utensils, folding chairs).

Drinks (water and canned beverages) will be provided for the picnic.

Columbia Audubon will follow the Boone County Health Department’s virus protocol at the time of the event.

(NOTE: In case of bad weather on Sept. 19, the Open House and Picnic will be held on Sunday, Sept. 24; members will be notified of a postponement by e-mail.)
