Finding 375 Bird Species (and a couple more) In Missouri – Edge Wade
Illustrated with photos by Missouri bird photographers, this is a tale of a quest to see as many bird species as possible in the state. Getting off to a late start (almost 50 years old when the spark bird lit the fire) meant a steep learning curve and lots of help from many of Missouri’s finest birders. Edge shares some insights into birders’ quirks and the traits typical of those for whom birding is a lifestyle, not just a pastime, as she describes birding adventures taking her to all the counties in Missouri. Bits of bird lore, some humor and expressions of appreciation of birds and birding companions (enablers?) make this presentation more than a simple, “I came, I saw, I counted.”
