Some people search for bargains after Thanksgiving; we’ll look for birds! First, there will be a social hour at Songbird Station (a generous sponsor of CAS) from 2:00–3:00 pm at 2010 Chapel Plaza Court, Suite C in Columbia. Come enjoy coffee, donuts, and conversation while selecting your winter bird seed and exploring a variety of possible holiday gifts (such as binoculars, birdhouses, books, and more). From 3:00–5:00 pm, we’ll walk the nearby 3M Wetland Trail; this flat gravel loop off the main MKT trail circles a restored wetland area with a variety of interesting habitats. We’ll proceed from Songbird Station to the Forum Nature Area parking lot (or you can meet us there at 3:00) and walk the MKT trail up to the loop for a total distance of about 1.5 miles. Feel free to bring family (or escape them!) as desired.

Contact trip leader Eric Reuter with any questions. As Songbird Station will graciously be providing the refreshments, feel free to let Eric know in advance if you know you’d like to attend the social hour; this will help our hosts prepare.
